The Mach1 UK Factory team MLC Motorsport travelled to Le Mans for the 2015 X30 World Finals with four drivers and with high hopes after topping some of the time sheets the year before.
Initial testing looked positive on the weekend before with all drivers showing good pace. This continued into the official practice sessions with both the senior and junior drivers posting times towards the front.
In timed qualifying MLC junior driver Cameron Boedler was topping the time sheets right through the session, looking good for P1 until the dying seconds, getting caught in traffic and dropping to a respectable 4th in group.
In Seniors it was a similar story with Australian Driver Paul Pittam posting times towards the front of the 128 kart grid!Eventually qualifying 6th in group only to receive a exclusion, which lead to him overtaking a total of 62 karts over the five heats.
The heats were mixed for all drivers. Boedler making straight through to the Grand final in 14th from the 78 kart grid with team mate Sam Cornwell starting on the front row of the B Final, of which he lead for some time eventually finishing 3rd. The seniors had a little too much to do after the exclusion and finished in the middle of the 128 kart senior grid.
The Junior X30 grand final was a hard battle, MLC driver Boedler didn’t have the best start but made up places to eventually finish 14th posting lap times capable of the podium - if not better. A great achievement for the 13 year old.
Again the MLC team proved the they have what it takes to compete at the highest level and that the Mach1 Kart is the perfect choice for the Iame X30 classes.
